I’ve heard nothing but good things about the Wishlist plugin. If you are looking to build a membership site, then I would recommend this plugin.

    Good job!

  2. Hi Christina,

I know you are a big fan of amember also. Which do you prefer for membership sites for wordpress? Wishlist or ammember? Thanks so much!

    Bill

    • Christina Hills says:

      Bill,

I have amember and have been using it a long time. I am moving towards WishList because it’s all in wordpress.

I don’t have to train my VAs on another system with WishList, whereas with amember, I have to train them on a new system.

aMemember has some nice features, like the ability to protect non wordpress folders. I like that.

But I think that overall it will be easier for me to run my business if I use WishList.

You can find that at http://www.wishlistqueen.com (my link for wishlist)

      ;)

no website yet ,darn it ! !

  4. Randy says:

The future of social media is in social niche online communities. This presents a huge oppotunity for those of us just starting to include blogs/membership sites/social media in one place that can be monetized.

Will WLM do this? If not, what will without a totally custom build-out?

    Many thanks!

    • Christina Hills says:

Randy, the nice thing about wordpress and wishlist is that you can control the social niche and online community yourself.

Although I love Twitter and Facebook, they are controlled by another company. With WordPress and Wishlist YOU control your community.

Wishlist member is a plugin, that you configure yourself, to protect parts of your site you want protected.

      • Randy says:

Thanks Christina! Saw your smiling face on an Alex Mandossian sales page last night. Happy Turkey Day!

I have your point on the control issue. Started with Typepad, then stopped. Considered http://www.QuanSite.com for my blog and http://www.SocialSam.com for the community.
Looks like WLM will work for everything.

Final question for you that I have sent to Stu. Will WLM work with the autoresponder package in 1SC? I wanted autoresponders/shopping cart in one place. Why are you/other internet marketers using Aweber whwn autoresponders are already in 1SC?

        • Christina Hills says:

          Randy,

Yes! WishList Member will work with the autoresponder package in 1SC. Very easy to setup, and if you refund a member, the cart will automatically unsubscribe them.

This is the easiest integration of an autoresponder to do, very little work on your part.

Some people use aweber because they already have it setup, and like the features of aweber.

I’m using it because of blog broadcasting, where you get an email message when I post to my blog

  5. Hey I completely agree with you that wishlist plugin is very usefull and I suggest this to everyone.

  6. Randy says:

    Helo Christina,
Thanks for the reply. Got it on the 1SC autoresponder package.

    1. If you were starting from scratch would you opt for the autoresponder feature set of Aweber or the ease-of-use shopping cart integration of 1SC?

    2. I wrote Stu again about my plans and will use your affiliate link if WLM is right for me. I want to build my monetizable community right out of the gate with a blog as the integrated front end with no custom coding. A first of a kind custom coded example… http://www.TheThrillionaires.com (my model).

    3. Next contact may need to be offline. If Stu says I can do this with WLM… I need help to pull it off. Seems you, or somebody you know could help tie this together fast for me.

    Happy Thanksgiving!, Randy
