What time does your WP class start and for how many weeks? Also whats the cost?

  2. joanne says:

When is the starting date for the new class? Being impatient and wondering what the cost is also.

    Thanks

Christina, Great video on expressing the value of wordpress themes and the speed of having a respectable looking web presence. I noticed that you mentioned the “Kubrik” default theme. It is now 2010 which has a lot more capability.

  5. Debra Marrs says:

I love how simple it is to change the look and feel of our websites, Christina. The ability to change the face of “our home on the internet” (website or blog) helps keep things fresh and enlivened. Great video demonstration! Thank you for this!

  6. Michael in the UK says:

    Thank you for that…
The easier you can make it the better and the more chance of actually doing it!!!
Love your videos and the effort you put into your emails giving us great advice. Thanks

  7. Richard says:

Thanks Christina. Do you also teach how SEO fundamentals? I’m not sure if these are the correct terms, but keywords and meta-tags? Whatever those things are. Thanks.

    • Christina Hills says:

      Richard,

yes we cover SEO fundamentals in module 8 of the program.
keywords, metatags, and how to think about SEO

      • Richard says:

Thanks. I’m looking forward to more details on September 14th. When Ken McCarthy gives you his seal of approval, I know your course has to be good.

  8. Jon Cortez says:

Looking forward to more details on the 14th, Christina. Thanks for the content!

  9. Christina,

All this information is lovely, and I have found a free theme that I would like to use; however, I can’t get beyond the update to 3.0.1.

I installed through Fantastico – that was no problem, and I can login to the dashboard – and I can look at the page, but I can’t do much else.

In trying to update, I have given every “hostname” that I can think of, and nothing has appeased the Wicked Web-update of WordPress.

Exactly what information is it looking for in order to update?

    Could you please advise?

    Thank you.

    • Christina Hills says:

      A.C.

This is hard for me to troubleshoot in a blog comment. Better to talk with you on the phone about it. It’s the kind of conversations we have in the Workshop. Stay tuned for details on that next week

  10. Ralph S. Chiavone says:

    Hi Christina;
As i mentioned in a previous comment, i think you and your teaching and coaching methods are what i have been searching for. However, i still have two very important concerns that may prevent me from taking “The Website Creation Program”.

My first concern is financial. I am presently going through a
serious and humbling financial experience. I probably will not be able to afford your instruction and coaching.

My second concern is my very limited computor experience. What may be basic computor terminology and skill for another person is often a source of confusion for me. I am not confident that i will be able to keep up with the class and understand the information you present. However, it is my understanding “The Website Creation Program” is presented in such a way that a student may complete the program at their own pace. Is this true? I also need to know how many times your students may repeat this program, and at what cost?

Christina, I want you to know that i have been “financially burned, used and let down” many times over the past twenty years by integrity-absent individuals and companies that promoted a variety of network marketing, (and one internet marketing “build your own web site”) programs. Those negative experiences have made me very cautious. But more importantly, those individuals and companies lost the most important aspect of our business relationship, my trust!
Sorry to burden you with this negative information.
Your comments, and answers to my questions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Sincerely,
    Ralph S. Chiavone, managing member
    ALLIED ENTERPRISES, LLC.

    • Christina Hills says:

      Ralph,

I hear this story many times and it pains me. People come to me often having been burned by other internet marketers, and are scared to trust anyone. This is why I run my series of free trainings and why I have a guarantee on my course.

I will be having a payment plan, to make the payments easier for folks.

And I do teach this course so that you can go through it at your own pace. The calls are live, but may people listen to the replays later. There are mini videos and visual handouts to guide you through.

You can retake the course as many times as you want, as long as I’m teaching it live. Also, all the materials stay up in a members area for you to go through on your own.

If you are still unsure, just read the student testimonials here:
      http://www.websitecreationworkshop.com/blog/testimonials/

and watch your email for the registration page next week.
See if it’s right for you then.

      :)

      • Ralph S. Chiavone says:

        Christina,

Thank you for your answers and comments. I will contact you again next week during registration.

  11. LorenasList says:

Help! What if I just don’t have time to do this? Do you or do you recommend, someone who can do it for me?

    • Christina Hills says:

      Lorena,

There are things you should learn, and things you don’t need to learn. I have my Virtual Assistants helping me all the time building my websites.

BUT, I know how to do it. Your website is your public presence, and it’s important to know HOW that is put together and how people are going to interact, and move through your site.

Your website is the most important part of your online business, because that is what people see.

I recommend that you make time to do this, and commit to yourself to learn about building your website with WordPress.
Or just keep paying and paying and paying for someone else to do it.

      • LorenasList says:

Thanks for your reply! Actually, I do know the basics and can throw up a page here and there. I just have a whole site (that was done on a proprietary platform) that I’m trying to convert over to Word Press – just for that same reason – I was held hostage & paying through the roof). I also have several other Pages/Tabs to add, so we are talking about a pretty comprehensive undertaking and I just don’t have the time to do the transition on my own. I can (and have) put up many of the pages myself in the past, but converting (it will be over 40-50 pages when said and done) will be overwhelming and not cost efficient. Any recommendations would be much appreciated! :) Thanks again for responding!

  12. Montrel says:

    Christina,

Will your course cover how to set up a landing page, install a survey and opt-in for researching a market?

    Thank You.

    • Christina Hills says:

      Montrel,
We cover doing polls. We spend a whole week on email marketing and opt-ins. Landing pages are also covered, and I have a bonus session on copywriting, but I don’t cover the copywriting aspects of landing pages.

    • Christina Hills says:

      Montrel,

Your question about surveys had prompted me to go do some research. Yes, I will be covering surveys and polls. I found a great way to do it that I’m preparing to teach in my Fall Workshop

  13. Terry Atkinson says:

Great promo info here. The question I have is that I am already a member and I am requiring to take the fall course as I would like to refresh what I have already learned . Do I register on the 14th as everyone else or do I go do it somewhere else. If so I have not located it. Please enable me to take your class. Thanks so much for your kindness.

    • Christina Hills says:

      Terry,

yes you get to take the program again at no cost. Contact the help desk as free Alumni registration expires tonight

  14. Mary says:

    Hi Christina,

Thanks for all the preview info leading up to your Workshop!

I’ve been exploring the Flexx theme and have a question.

Can I change the color of the Flexx Navigation Bar (the Page drop-down menu) that runs above or below the header image?

My header image is a watercolor painting in yellow and orange hues, so I would like my Navigation Bar to be in a lighter tone. The Flexx default of Black looks too heavy to me.

Can I change the color of the Flexx Navigation Bar? If not, can you recommend another theme with a color scheme that might work better?

    Thanks so much,

    Mary

    • Christina Hills says:

      Mary,

yes you can change the color of the nav bar. If you mouse over mine, you will see that I have the color change to a purple.
In my workshop members area I have a mini video that demonstrates this.

  15. What great timing! I just received a quote for a WordPress website with 8 pages from a web designer and a basic package starts at $850. Like the Cowardly Lion in the Wizard of Oz, I was afraid to do it myself and afraid to pay all that money!

How awesome to learn myself, build and maintain my own website and help my clients!

    • Christina Hills says:

      Betty,

it’s more than just that. That just gets you one website. Then there are changes, updates, etc.

Do it yourself, then you can make as many as you want! Whenever you want.

      :)
