Alice in WordPress Land

By Christina Hills

Today I have a story for you.

This is the story of a little girl named Alice.

Watch this video, the first in a series, and follow Alice through WordPress Land as she discovers a new, almost magical, way of building websites without that Mad-as-a-Hatter Webmaster…

    Christina,

Okay .. this was a great video. Not because it was cute/funny and you entertained me but because of the ingenious marketing strategy for your webinar.

Your video is a great idea to help create the trust and relationship between yourself and your clients.

I sent this video around to about a thousand or so folks this morning.

Thanks for reminding me to focus on the many clients as if it were just 1:1.

    Many Blessings,

    Colleen Bain, M.A.

    • Christina Hills says:

      Colleen,
Thanks so much for your comments. We had SO MUCH FUN, making this video! It’s really a family business…

      :)

    Christina,
    No wonder you’re successful.
Julia Child, White Rabbit, (cute Alice!) & best of all an Enchanted Forest. Love the opening graphics.

Hi Christina, Great video you are a good actor.
I was wondering, is the idea to get people to join you at the webinar? If so, how would they do it? On the right you have, teleseminar, blog updates and workshop links.
I was also wonder as an affiliate can I send someone to this post by adding, “?af=MyNumber” on to the end of this URL: http://www.websitecreationworkshop.com/blog/videos/alice-in-wordpress-land/

  4. Love it! I can see that talent is a family trait.

  5. Jane Lee says:

    Hi Christina:

Love your Alice in Wonderland Video. Look forward to the next series with the white rabbit guiding Alice through WordPressland. You have an awesome teaching style that anyone from beginners (what is wordpress?) to advance students will learn how to put up a website right after completing your class.

    Regards,
    Jane

  6. Lark says:

that’s wonderful christina! made my morning! love those white rabbits! and alice is awesome too!

  7. Art says:

What if I use Frugal as my theme. Can I use that
as the practice model in your class?

Is it confusing to learn on a different theme from the Itheme?

Can the practice product be converted into a live
    website later?

    Art

    • Christina Hills says:

      Art,
You can use ANY theme you want! You do not need to use the ithemes ones. I find iThemes really easy to use, but many students use many other themes.

Yes, the whole point of the course is to give you a practice site that you will convert to a real site. (Note that registration starts March 16th).

  8. Re previous question – changing your theme is easier than changing your nail polish (if you can relate). ;-)

    Great video once again.

  9. Debbie Ally says:

Christina this is awesome! Amazing work as usual – you set the bar in so many areas as a mentor. I’m so proud to know you and call you friend – you’re such a bright light!

  10. Love this Christina and your daughter is precious!

Great work and so looking forward to the next workshop series.

  11. Carol Giambri says:

I love the video with you and Maggie; she’s so natural and so are you. Great way to share your message with your audience! Very creative and fun watching. It was short, sweet and to the point. I could be listening to this one over and over again!

    Thanks.

    Carol

  12. Carol Giambri says:

What camera did you use: Iphone, Flip (HD) or ? My Flip was stolen so may be resorting to my Canon Powershot for the time being as no Iphone yet. Thanks.

    Carol

    • Christina Hills says:

Carol, the camera was a older Sony DCR-SR82 handycam camcorder. However we do not recommend it, as it’s been clunky to work with. We are looking for a new camera ourselves.

I use the flip, and my husband shoots with the Sony.

I’m looking at the Zi8 camera as my next one. Like a flip but has an external mike

  13. Christina,

This is academy award worthy! This is a perfect example of relationship marketing, where we connect with our prospects and clients by relating to them on a deeper level.
This campaign is sure to be successful.
    Connie

  14. Jana says:

    Christina,
You are so amazing! Internet marketing can be boring and tiresome at times, but NEVER in your neck of the (enchanted) woods! Love it!
    Jana

  15. Debra Marrs says:

Great show, Christina! You are so clever! This is one of the reasons why your Website Creation Workshop is so fab. You find creative ways to deliver your messages so they are never ever boring. Excited to be joining you in the next workshop!

  16. Karol Kyno says:

Absolutely a winner, thanks for making video fun and you have both of my thumbs up!! Look forward to your series!
    Karol

  17. Christina Hills says:

Thanks all for your great comments!

We definitely had fun making this video, and all the others in the series…

Stay tuned for more over the next couple of weeks!

  18. Cathy Demers says:

Christina! I love your work – and I am sure this workshop will ROCK! I’ll be telling my clients to check it out for themselves and I am sure you will be getting enrollments from them.

  19. Lisa Suttora says:

Christina, awesome video! People can learn a lot from this.

Not only is the video very engaging and communicates your message about the mission of the Website Creation Workshop, it’s also a great study in how to make your marketing stand out, and make it unique WITHOUT spending a lot of money!

Which is something you also teach people very well in the Website Creation Workshop. How to make your website stand out without spending a fortune on a webmaster/web design.

Looking forward to more videos. : )

    Lisa

  20. saxon says:

Christina this is so inspiring and has given me some great ideas and shows that nothing should be boring. I am so excited about joining your course again this time. Cant wait to make some fabulous vidoes of my own. thank you

  21. Christina,

This is so cute and love the family business aspect. Shows us how to have fun while getting the word out! You are a great example to us all!

  22. Heike Miller says:

That’s so funny, I love the video. :)

Poor “lazy” slow webdesigners, how do they feel about that, lol?

  23. So funny! Love it and have passed it to my networks. Maggie rocks!

  24. Do we sense the Internet Oscars coming on?!

Maybe you can sneak in some of those mad-as-a-hatter webmasters through the back door of the rabbit hole! They’ll be even better at what they do having studied with you…

Having been on your course, I so appreciate that you let us come back again…lots to learn, and you always make it different and better to give us another chance to ‘get it’!

  25. punita says:

Dear Christina: As soon as I watched this newest creation of yours, I immediately passed the link on to friends who are just starting their businesses with the subject line: great and cute marketing strategy. Playful, brief and clear… I love the modeling you offer and you certainly practice what you teach. And it is so sweet to finally get to see your beautiful daughter. Thanks again for the gifts of learning you bring in unexpected ways. Punita

  26. I like!!! Very nice!!! WordPress.org is better than wordpress.com!

  27. Just as I expected, and as I see everyone above has already said, this is perfect! It’s delightful, fun, opens the door to a relationship with you, and definitely should leave viewers wanting more. The “more” that I’m eager for now is what I need to do to become an affiliate, and what URL I would then use to refer people to your messages and your course. Also, once I have the appropriate URL, can I shrink it with any of those services and have it work to get people to you correctly? Thanks, and thanks again for the Gravatar training!

  28. Hello Christina,

You know, people put smiles on my face day in and day out and I put smiles on the faces of many people throughout each day as well. So far, you have put the biggest smile on my face today.

Loved the video. You’re a natural.

    Christina:

Very fun! Alice is just sooo Cute! It is net that you are willing to “break the mold” and let people know what they can really do!

    Great Job,
    Doug Johnson

  31. I’m thinking that your REAL calling may be in the movies. :) Maggie is beautiful; looks just like you. What a fun example of “work” for her.”

    Kathryn

  32. Will we get to meet Dinah? Do you have a cat? d

  33. Christina Hills says:

These are all really great comments!
The cat was the stuffed animal in the video that “Alice” was holding. Watch again and you’ll see it

    :)

  34. What fun!!! Who wouldn’t want to be outside playing make believe with your daughter? Can’t wait to see the tea party.

    Your friend, Judy H Wright

  35. I loved this video! Would like to see more!

  36. Linda Micklr says:

WHAT FUN! Love seeing you and your daughter – oh, I mean The White Rabbit and Alice – having such a romp in the woods! I wonder – err – wordpress – what comes next!

  37. Carol Giambri says:

    Christina,
Hearing raving reviews on Zi8 camera. Thanks for sharing, but was thinking no flip, no mp3, so maybe Iphone. My cell works great however, bug as AT&T customer, $199 would be.

    carol

  38. Christina,

Nicely done! I enjoying seeing what you come up with, so much fun and I love the tick tock of the clock in the back ground… either that or I had better run because my laptop is going to blow! lol

    Keep up the good work.

  39. Roy Fielding says:

    Great video Christina,

I’ve been hearing that you are
the one to listen to when it comes
to WP.. so i figured I better
    stop by…..

    Thanks,

    Roy Fielding

    Hi, Christina,
thank you for the awesome video!
It’s nice to meet person who is not absolutely focused on selling something, but tries to entertain her visitors a little bit.
I wish you a bright future in Online Business!

  43. Mave says:

    Very entertaining

  44. Fran Aslam says:

I am very interested in your word press training. I want to know the total fee, how long does it take to finish the course and when can I start.

I tried to find this infromation myself but I could not see
it, so I am leaving a message here.
Please let me know as soon as you can.

What are the payment options? Let me know these choices.

Thank you. You sound like a great person to teach and I am already getting excited.

But still it depends of the fee.
