One of the great things about WordPress, is that you can ‘schedule’ your posts to go out in the future.  That means that you can write your articles ahead of time, and have them appear on your site on the specified date.

Watch this short video where I explain how it works:

First you edit the date and pick a date in the future –> then you click on the “Schedule” button

And once you do that, your WordPress Post will go out to your site automatically!

Yes, I know that Google Plus has been around for a while now, but I’m not the kinda gal who always jumps onto the newest and hottest thing right away. I like to wait a while before I embrace something.  And with Google+ I’m not super excited yet. However, I am a big fan of many of the Google products (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calendar) as I use them all the time in my business.

Anyways, I’ve been pretty happy hanging out on Facebook (http://www.Facebook.com/christinahillsbiz) but I found these two videos that I thought I’d share with you about Google Plus.  It simplifies what Google Plus is and what Google Circles are.

This first video explains what Google Plus is.

This second video explains what Google Circles are…

When I teach the Website Creation Workshop, I often get the question: “Where do I install WordPress?”

and the answer is: “Wherever you want it!”

You see, you can install WordPress at the root of your domain name, as in www.thebestthemes.com, or you can install it in a folder as in www.WebsiteCreationWorkshop.com/blog

Here is a YouTube video I did that explains this:

If you already have a website, and you want to add a blog to it, you can put it in a folder on your hosting company servers as /blog or /articles or /news or whatever you want to call it.

Or if you want you can install the WordPress site at the root of your domain, and that is the site.
(I prefer this method, since the URL links are shorter)

(Hey, if any of this seems too techy, just put your question about it in the box below)

Collaborating with Google Docs

Posted by: | Comments (7)

If you have a virtual company, or if you are collaborating with others on a project, Google Docs is a great way to work together without having the annoying problem of documents getting out of sync. I am doing this with my team as we plan the Website Creation Workshop Live Event in San Diego.

Now I have talked about Google Docs before on this blog, but I love how this little video shows you how you can see others working on your document in real time.

Watch this short video introducing Google Docs:

I use Google Docs with my Virtual Assistants all the time, as it helps us plan out projects and new WordPress websites that we are building together, so we can all work together virtually.

You can find out more by going to Google.com/apps/docs
