I just stumbled upon the funniest video asking the ‘man on the street’ : What is a Browser? It’s amazing how many people in the general public don’t know what a ‘Browser’ is. (in case you want to know, here is the Wikipedia definition of a browser)

We often take it for granted that people know some of these basics, but in fact many don’t yet. And it reminds me to remind you not to overlook terminology when you communicate with your audience. It’s ok when you speak to your audience using some basic terms. They will appreciate it and give them an orientation and context for your material.
