In my opinion, if it works, it works. It may not pull n the masses, but it could be the one tool that helps some marketers just at the right time. And the vary point that it’s free, so there should only be thanks that there is another method to reach people.

Yes, twtvite.com is free, all you need is a twitter account to sign up. (you may be able to use it without twitter and just use it with Facebook. Not sure)

I have only seen it used for a physical gathering, but I bet that you COULD use it for a virtual gathering too.

Sounds like this is used mostly to bring people together physically (although, I guess you might be able to use it for a webinar, or something like that, I don’t know). So, it seems for the most part useful to our connections in restricted geographic area.
