I use the Kindle app (sold my Kindle) for books, Audible for audio books, and a RSS reader called Pulse to keep up on the two dozen blogs that I try to keep up with. I watch movies, TV and read newspapers and magazines (Zinio's great). I have also found a great notetaking app and a stylus that makes the iPad great for taking notes too. I have even found a backup battery, the size of a deck of cards that gives me an additional 50 hours of operation. It's truly a wonderful device. Hoping they put at least a front facing camera on it - they are doing so much with Face Time that it just seems the iPad will get that upgrade. There also are a lot of rumors of a smaller iPad - perhaps a 7in screen. I have been holding off on getting an ipad, now I hear that we will have 4G starting the first of the year and that verizon is hooking up with apple to handle the ipad. If this is the case, it will be great, my verizon phone works 99.9 percent of where ever I go, It also works just fine in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, which is my other home.
