How to Install Firefox as Your Browser

By Christina Hills

Today’s blog post is about the web browser Firefox.

When working with my WordPress website, I prefer to use FireFox as my browser.  I like Firefox because of the many features it has (and it remembers your passwords for you!).  But most computers don’t come with FireFox already installed.  So I found this great short video (4 min)

You will want to download and install the Firefox browser on your computer. This will make your life much more productive, as FireFox saves all your passwords, and works best with WordPress. If you don’t already have the firefox browser, then watch this video below on how to download it. Go here to get FireFox

  1. Thanks so much Christina:

I like Firefox, but the last time when I reformatted my computer and reinstalled it along with Internet Explorer 7, FireFox stepped on Explorer 7.

What I mean is, FireFox’s icon replaced the IE icon. FireFox opened when I wanted Explorer. It actually took over IE as if it were not there.

It was a horror to say the least, and having just reformatting and having to reinstall everything new I was more than a little traumatized by this. So I uninstalled FireFox, never to be reinstalled again. But:

I DO like FireFox and will try again. I am using Windows XP Professional.

Who knows, maybe I forgot to check that little box on the bottom of the install screen to NOT make FireFox my default.

I just could not understand why it changed the IE icon and opened FireFox when I was clearly clicking on IE.

YES, I am also a big fan of Firefox. Also, IE and some blog themes have issues. However, I am very wary of having any browser remember my passwords these days because of security issues. Unless, I get assurance from Firefox that it is just not an issue.
    What do you think?

I have been using Mozilla professionally and personally since 2003 and I’ve never had a password issue!

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks Nan-Leah,

I too enjoy and love Firefox so much more than IE for blogging, however I did read that Firefox is not the issue, It’s anything that will store your passwords in cookies. Those passwords are vulnerable. Firefox has a very secure browser. It’s the password store function that is not secure.
I was advised to download the free roboforms, some also use other programs silmilar to that program like password depot, etc

But thanks so much for your comment
