Getting Inspiration on a Weekend

By

I shot this video with my little flip camera, so I could quickly share this tip with you…

It’s a weekend, and you get an idea from something you see in the news, it sparks an idea in your brain, and you want to put it up on your website.   Well with WordPress, you can get that independence and freedom, and put up your web pages and posts even on the weekend!

Watch this video…

There’s an old axiom … “seize the day” … and … another is …. “actions speak louder than words” …

Beautiful to watch …(and the video too) …

From Aus. with best Wishes … (aveagoowigend ! … in Strine Speak!!)….. an aspiring I/M’er ..aka …ozibody.

  2. Douglas Pye says:

    P S :- Btw … “aveagoowigend .. in strinespeak means .. “have a good weekend”! in “civilized language” …. :-) … D …

  3. Michael in the UK says:

What a fantastic lifestyle you have.
When I watch a video like that i’m thinking, there really is no excuses for not taking action and making things happen.
Also, it’s all upto ones self……

    • Christina Hills says:

      Michael,

You hit the nail right on the head!
There is no excuse for not taking action, you just got to do it.

And when you don’t know what to do, you just say to yourself: “What is the next thing I need to do right now to move closer to my goal?”
      and do that next thing!

Then all these little steps will add up to accomplish your big goal.

I’m a recent user of WPress and love its flexibility and accessibility. (I’d love to have an ipad, but will have to do a few more things first and then will reward myself with one). Thanks for all your ueseful tips, Christina

    • Christina Hills says:

      Caroline,
WordPress’s flexibility and accessibility are the two main reasons why I teach WordPress in my Workshop. (plus countless others)

An iPad is a nice reward for hard work done.

  5. Christine – how many more days until you announce the $ for the workshop? What is the most direct way to stay in touch about it?

    • Christina Hills says:

      Lillian,

the doors open for registration in 1 week on September 15th.

The best way to find out about it, and to get a chance at the early bird bonus, you will want to get on the email list. You can do that here:
      http://www.websitecreationworkshop.com/blog/next-workshop/

just scroll to the bottom. It’s all 1 email list, so if you are already subscribed and you are getting emails from me, then you should be good to go.

      :)

  6. Helenee says:

    She is an astute actress.

She re-Invents and Impersonates, with her own special wit,

A few classic literary characters and

Herself in the role of a Business Woman

and Powerful Associate (sort of a Magic Helper…)

Eager to Educate and Assist you

    in your quest for

Prosperity on the endless paths of

    WordPress Land

    and other

    equally fascinating and perilous locales.

    The Scripts are quite interesting,

because she seems to practice what she preaches

and she knows how to communicate her message through to you.

  7. Jackie J says:

    Love it!

    Great little video.

  8. Joe says:

Christina, you are getting sexier with every post! But I am curious, can’t the power of a YouTube video title be harnessed in the same way a page tile or blog title is? Why only choose 3 words. YouTube gives you quite a few character spaces for the title. Why not fill it with key phrases so your video comes up in more searches? Maybe you intentionally made it short so not too many would come through that funnel. I was just wondering.

    • Christina Hills says:

      Joe,
yes, you are right about youtube. I was just working fast and wanted to get the video up quickly. That’s all.

  9. More freedom with WordPress is that you can use it from ANY computer because your website is on WordPress and not on your computer or your webmaster’s computer. Fun video. Glad you’re my mentor.

  10. Barbara C says:

You echoed a concern I had about ease of accessing a
Wordpress site from various locations. I had been lusting after a shiny new Ipad and wondered whether it would meet my blogging needs. So I a compared it with a netbook and after sampling my friend’s Ipad and the netbooks at Staples decided that the main feature I wanted was a keyboard that wouldn’t take off on it’s own while I was resting my hands on it between thoughts like the Ipad keypad does. And yes, you can get a separate keyboard but then, what’s the point? I have been very satisfied with my netbook. I did make sure I got one with standard laptop keyboard spacing, though. A feature not all netbooks have. (The allure of the Ipad is still there and I may get one at some future date but not for this purpose.)

    • Christina Hills says:

      Barbara,

The iPad is a different experience from the netbook. I have both. I also have the keyboard that comes with the iPad. The iPad will not play flash video, which is a big bummer.

I like the iPad for quick on the go work. And for surfing in bed. But you are right about the netbook keyboard, much more comfortable to work with.

The iPad’s keyboard is only really useful if you are sitting at a desk.

  11. Vicki Kron says:

Love your videos. I’m trying to learn as much as possible so I can set up a blog using WordPress…..comming soon! Thanks for showing us how-to-do-it so easily.

  12. Gerald S. says:

Great little weekend tidbit! Always enjoy your “inspirations”.

    • Christina Hills says:

      Gerald,

And I got more inspirations this weekend at the Walt Disney Family museum! Great place if you are ever in San Francisco

  13. Trudy says:

    HI,
I wish I knew your daughters name and excuse me please if it was in credits and I didn’t see them or whatever! I must say she is getting to be quite the little actress! I left you a note on face book about her! It had a little Oz relation as well! This session you choose one of my all time favorite movies and a family ritual in my house when I grew up.

Plus Your videos are better more creative and just so awesome and inspiring to know you just started all this yourself, and look at where you are! I say “just started;…that is not exactly true but it has only been what? 3 years this class has run like six sessions and you can do that! WOW is all I can say!

GUYS IF SHE can do this we can all do it to!!! This is the number one best way and place to learn it at as well! SO GLAD to be back. Hello everyone!
    Very Fondly,
    Trudy

  14. Loved your quickie vid. This is something I’ve been promising to do – comfort zone thing. I’ve mastered podcasting and love it; just learned how to fade in and fade out muxic, so off the cuff videos should be a doddle! It’s now top of my list.

  15. PatriciaD says:

Loved the bowl of cheeries…thanks for the quick little video. I would love to get me a little iPad but right now there are other things (financially speaking) that are in the way. Maybe someday. Looks like fun!!

    • Christina Hills says:

      Patricia,

I LOVE my iPad. But if you had to choose between an iPad or an iPhone, go for the iPhone. (it has a camera!)

  16. Sherry White says:

    Christina:

I’m looking forward to getting more information about workshop. I started a blog on WordPress.com, but now I’m having second thoughts. Hopefully, you’ll be able to clear up any misunderstandings that I might have. Thank you for being so CLEAR and concise in your teachings.
